Do YOU have what it takes to answer the call?

KCCDA dispatch operations are conducted by Emergency Communications Officer I (ECO I) and Emergency Communications Officer II (ECO II) positions.  An ECO I is a call taker who answers emergency and non-emergency calls and is also trained to process Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) requests.  An ECO II is a dispatch position that dispatches police and fire agencies and also performs the job functions of an ECO I.

Under the direct supervision of an assigned Dispatch Supervisor and the general supervision of the Executive Director and Deputy Director, Emergency Communications Officer I answers and processes emergency and non-emergency calls for law enforcement, fire, medical or other emergency services, and receives and processes queries thru criminal justice and Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) systems. This position performs an essential public safety function and shall be available for work in all conditions and in the event of an emergency. Interested in learning more?
